It’s been nearly 9 months since the launch of XOYO’s residency series and as a club we look back on an unforgettable run of parties. Our residents Eats Everything, The 2 Bears and now Jackmaster have all shown just how much dedication and passion it takes to deliver a prolific residency in present clubland. It’s a great honour to announce Simian Mobile Disco will become XOYO’s 4th quarter residents of 2014. As they release their brand new album Whorl, the internationally acclaimed duo will take the crown from Jackmaster this October. The pair will play 12 consecutive Saturdays across October, November and December bringing along an impressive roster of supporting guests to close XOYO’s inaugural year of the residency series.
This time round SMD will welcome Kevin Saunderson, one of techno’s foremost figures, and credited with being one of the genre’s originators alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May as the Belleville Three. With him comes Redshape, one of techno’s new school, but is no less potent is his delivery of walloping grooves imbued with a real sense of emotion.
