In the guise of their trippy Techno alter ego’s, the pair are perhaps better known as Hypercolour head honcho Alex Jones and cutting-edge tech-house whizz Glimpse. Although each coming from rather more sedate backgrounds, the moment the two get in the studio sees them practically loose their shit, impulsively swapping their routine laid back slinky stuff for rough and tough warehouse stompers. Employing a far weightier sensibility than we ever thought possible the duo have knocked out some of the most thunderous dark room tackle to clatter the scene in donkeys. Initially cloaked in anonymity, a statutory requirement of any self-respecting grizzly underground techno outfit, the pair began to release their mysterious slabs of heavy-duty vinyl plates into the wild via their self-titled label. Anonymity was not long maintained however due to their white labels rightfully frantic reception, sending punters clambering to get their mitts on their lean, mean rave machines.
Fans of Glimpse will undoubtedly be familiar with his regular outings on Hypercolour, the label of production bro Alex Jones. Ranging from kinky house wigglers to muscular stripped down tech-house arrangements Glimpse, or Chris Spero to his mum, has amassed quite the versatile discography over the past few years (even boasting a pair of remixes from the almighty Carl Craig to his name!) Whilst keeping their feet firmly on the dancefloor, Hypercolours impressive output has always proven a keen eye for the left of centre. Boasting releases from some of the biggest names in the game the label has skilfully proven its ability to release music from a recognizable yet diverse range of artists, bringing together a roster that spans the length and breadth of the dance music spectrum. Supporting a range of young artists from the likes of Mosca, George Fitzerald, Huxley and Maya Jane Coles as well as reviving the creative spirits of dance music veterans such as Groove Armanda.
