  • Dj, collector and music lover since the late 80s, has played all around Europe, USA and Japan. Born In Verona (Italy) in 1973. Lived in Milan from 1992 to 1997. Moved to London in November 1997 until November 1999. Now back in Verona. Started Djing in 1988 with Hip Hop, but turned rapidly to House (early Mr. Fingers, Nu Groove) and Detroit Techno (Derrick May, Carl Craig). DJed in small clubs in Verona forming a crew called Psyche Group, then again in Milan (spinning eclectic and drum’n bass). Formed italian drum’n bass label Sonica with Frank Siccardi from publishing company Di Più in June 1997 and organized a regular Sonica night at the Pergola Club (Milan). During these club nights, he introduced to Italy guests like Photek and played in live P.A.’s with Paradox (Reinforced and various other UK labels). Sonica got recognition from the whole deep drum’n bass scene community and Volcov’s singles were regular features in Fabio’s show on Radio One (BBC). Then, in the summer of 1998, again with the backing of Di Più, Enrico created the Archive label as a real need to express his musical influences and interests. The label quickly became a favourite of all the best eclectic DJ’s worldwide. January 2001 has seen the birth of another label: Neroli Productions. Neroli is a more houseytracky label as well as the home of all his activities (merchandise, productions, projects). Now Enrico is mainly concentrating on his solo house project as Isoul8 and the fusion inspired collaboration with Domu under the RIMA name. The latter lead to the the release of the album “This World” for Jazzanova Compost records in the summer of 2003.This year has seen the release of his debut solo album as Isoul8, that features collaborations with heavyweight musicians and singers as Kaidi Tatham, Valerie Etienne, Nadirah Shakoor, Paul Randolph, Rasiyah, Osunlade, Marcus Begg, Just One, Diamondancer and others. During 2007 is also due a Neroli cd compilation for the Japanese market in association with Minotaur and Stussy and another one with all new material and unreleased cuts from the Neroli productions camp. His latest project is the label Reincarnation together with Luca Benini from Slam Jam. Tokyo Black Star, Alex Attias and At Jazz are already on board. Also worth checking is his compilation of classic and melodic techno entitled “Soul In Moion” released in 2003 for Cuadra records. Some of his latest projects include a 12” with Paul Randolph on Especial Japan, the rare groove compilations 'way back when' and 'I owe it to myself' also on Especial, a split 12” of covers of the Classic ‘Stop Bajon’ with Theo Parrish for Archive records, remixes for classic azymuth Montreal City on Far Out, for Jenifa Mayanja on Bu-Mako, and releases on Restless Traxx and Kinda Soul. He is a respected disco soul funk editor and his SJNRL releases are a favourite of the likes of Sadar Bahar and Theo Parrish among others. A new album project in collaboration with Gerald Mitchell [Los Hermanos/Underground Resistance] that features other Detroit artists like Randolph and Pirahnahead is due in 2014. Also the Neroli label still going strong with a current Dego & 2000 Black Family release and more projects soon to be released.
