Decibel Festival 2014: Optical 6: Erased Tapes

  • UK record label Erased Tapes – home to Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm and A Winged Victory For The Sullen – celebrates its seventh year of fusing classical and contemporary music with a special U.S. West Coast Tour, which brings together three very unique artists from their roster. Peter Broderick will provide the folky vocals and Greg Haines the spacey subs with their collaborative, dub-inspired project Greg Gives Peter Space. Singer-songwriter Douglas Dare combines acoustic instrumentation with glitchy electronic sounds and will be joined by his percussionist and producer Fabian Prynn. Whilst Ryan Lee West aka Rival Consoles will explore atmosphere, space and the power of colour with his analogue setup of the Moog, Prophet and tape delay, and his desire to create a more organic, humanised sound. It will be an evening of true live performance, with each artist bringing their unique take on electronic music to the stage, presented by Decibel, The Triple Door and The Windish Agency. The poster artwork was specially commissioned and designed by American relief artist Gregory Euclide, known for his cover art for Bon Iver. 'Highly recommended and much worth seeking out for those who deeply enjoy music’ – Rolling Stone
