  • DASHA RUSH (Fullpanda, Berlin, DE) Dasha Rush is a Russian born, citizen of the world. She combines her activities as a techno producer with her dj performances as well as multi-artistic collaborations alongside artists and dancers. Dasha Rush conjures up a mixture of rare synthesized sounds, techno, and electronic experimentation. While all of her work is rooted in underground avant-garde art movements from the early 20th century to this day, Dasha likes to push the boundaries of contemporary music and dance, assembling sounds into deep, slightly dark, intense and emotional artistic expression. In her strange and twisted world the machines are the protagonists of a neo-romanticism, weaved with human dreams. The soundscapes you will hear on this night, will hit you; mind, body and soul. THE AUTOMATIC MESSAGE (from 0-1, Unoiki, Kalimari) The Automatic Message have built a strong portfolio of abstract, dark and tension-building audiovisuals together producing avant-guard, off-kilter techno. CLR label boss Chris Liebing brought them onboard to create, produce and direct two videos for the label’s release schedule with Black Asteroid’s “Engine 1” and Tommy Four Seven’s “G”. Blending these two art forms, Their live performances are often described as cinematic, emotional, dark and thought provoking. The Automatic Message has performed across North America at various events and festivals in Vancouver, Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Montreal as well as Berlin's infamous Berghain. NANCY DRU (Subversive, Bonz.ai) Jen P grew up in a large suburb of Vancouver, listening her dad's strange records, playing goofy melodies on her bontempi, trying to learn guitar but finding reel to reel loops much more appealing. As a result, she has always been obsessed with the stranger end of electronic music. In 1997 she started online radio stations geekmusic and geekmusic 2, playing IDM of the golden era. She also began producing her own IDM music at this time as The Square Root of Evil, and now has numerous releases under her belt, including two EPs, "Chirping Data" and "Killerbytes". As well, she has played countless live shows around the world as a producer, including festivals such as Soundwave, Mutek, and Communikey, and alongside such artists as Plaid, Venetian Snares, Books on Tape, FFF, Cursor Miner, and Captain Ahab. Tastes change, helped by a healthy dose of music festivals such as New Forms, Decibel and Mutek. Gradually Jen found herself enjoying the four on the floor sounds that she had previously brushed off (the 303s didn't hurt either). In 2011 she helped to start an idm/techno bi-weekly in Vancouver- "Bonz.ai"- as a resident DJ, using her experience as a producer to craft danceable sets with some less predictable twists and turns. In 2013 she became part of Vancouver Subversive crew, and has shared the stage with Alland Byallo (Thoughtless), Ryan Elliot (Osgut Ton), Shed (Monkeytown, Delsin), Kangding Ray (Raster Noton, Stroboscopic Artefacts), Rodhad (Dystopian, Token) and others- playing deep & dark techno sounds that appeal to the brain as well as the body.
