Skittering beats slide through surreal melodies and distorted vocals or keys. Though his father is the bass player for Ennio Morricone’s orchestra and a studio guitarist on numerous Italian records, from a young age Gio was drawn towards hip hop. Having released albums on Daedleus' Magical Properties imprint and Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder venture, The Laptop Lapdance EP on Fine Grains is the Berlin-based artist' debut 12" and has recieved support from the likes of Gilles Peterson & Tom Ravenscroft on BBC Radio 6 and B. Traits & Rob Da Bank on BBC Radio 1. --- CAIN Cain is a producer of epic, ethereal and poly-rhythmic sounds, from the Highlands of Scotland. His first EP on Fine Grains, 'Mora', mixed unique drum patterns from around the globe with modern bass derivatives, and picked up support from DJ Shadow, Dark Sky and Ally McCrae on BBC Radio 1. He has since gone on to contribute mixes for the BBC R1 Introducing series and developed his live set with gigs at the Glasgow School of Art, Supynes Festival in Lithuania, United Nations festival in Rome and the Fine Grains residency at Alibi, London. --- URAKI RIDDIM Fine Grains founder and DJ/host on Frission and NTS Radio, London-based Uraki Riddim has been playing out for over ten years with residencies and nights in the UK, Spain and Norway. His bold and genre-spanning selection style has led to playing support for acts from TNGHT (HudMo + Lunice), Bonobo, Rustie, Onra, Gold Panda, Birdy Nam Nam and DMX Krew.
