  • He grew up in Detroit, made cuts in Berlin: DJ and producer Seth Troxler has a truly global sound. Now the prolific DJ is headed down under for Future Music, performing at club dates across the country in November. ‘Troxler's grasp of pace makes even the most unlikely twists in his plot seem natural ... he leaves you grinning like the Cheshire Cat’ – Resident Advisor ‘Michigan native Troxler is awesomely larger than life...a modern Merry Prankster with a killer record collection.’ – Rolling Stone Long endeared to music lovers for being a connoisseur of dance culture, Troxler’s constant touring schedule and playful approach has seen the UK-based producer land plenty of accolades. In 2012 he was voted #1 spot on Resident Advisor’s Top 100 DJs poll – he’s actually been in their top five for five years running. That same year Rolling Stone magazine voted him #13 in their ‘25 DJs That Rule The Earth’, Troxler last in the country two years ago for huge sets at Future Music Festival. Whether penning hilarious editorials for Thump (read here) or sharing a recent two-hour, back-to-back set at Germany’s Melt! Festival alongside Tiga (check it out here), Seth Troxler is truly one of a kind. He’s graced festival stages aplenty – think Creamfields (UK), Sonus (Ukraine), Detroit Electronic Music Festival (USA), Sonar (Barcelona), Glastonbury (UK), Coachella (USA) – and regular spots at iconic clubs like Fabric (London) and Circo Loco (Ibiza). One thing is for certain: Seth Troxler is notoriously funny and knows how to party! Troxler spent his teenage years in the Detroit underground, playing his first show at 15 and scoring himself a job at a local record store as a techno buyer. It was here he first met Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss and Shaun Reeves – years later, the collective forming Visionquest, releasing names like Benoit & Sergio, Footprintz and more. Troxler has stepped it up again, recently unveiling on brand new projects – including recently announced imprint, Soft Touch Records, who just unveiled its debut release, from Clarian. Check out the label’s Soundcloud here. Alongside the Martinez Brothers, Troxler has also established the imprint Tuskegee Music, a new vinyl-only label inspired by the trio’s love of the ‘90s Paradise Garage influence. And then there’s yet another new label – Play It Say It, its moniker “based on the stickers that used to appear on records during the ‘80s and ‘90s”. The new label launched with a one-track single from Deep Dish’s Sharam, who reformed after an eight-year hiatus. Troxler’s a man of many talents – last year he opened restaurant Smokey Tails in Hackney, the DJ a three-time cooking champion at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE). Ever wanted to have a rave in a subway? Troxler recently did just that for Gigwax in NYC – check it out here. And to hear Troxler sound off on the state of dance, you could do worse than watching him sit down with Pete Tong for a keynote interview at the latter’s International Music Summit (IMS) in Ibiza here. Check out Troxler’s skills with some of his best tracks and remixes – listen here. With springtime on its way, these gigs will be parties you don’t want to miss! Grab your tickets now.
