Sat Dec 06 - The South London Soul Train continues it's twice monthly mission to funk up your mind and body + force feed yoh soul with the best of times. Your host with the absolute most Jazzheadchronic unleashing an uplifting 4 Hour soulfully delicious set of funked up soul, rare groove and classic disco beasts without mercy on the dance-floor. Loud, large and very, very direct.
The Jazzhead [and resident Nik Weston spinning pure funky brazil vinyl], joined by one of his all time favourite bands. Chris Franck & DJ Patrick Forge’s simply outstanding award winning tropical Brazillian 7 Piece Live band DA LATA.
Over the course of their 20 year career, Da Lata have worked alongside, remixed or collaborated with the likes of Femi Kuti, Sly and Robbie, Ernest Ranglin, Baaba Maal and Bebel Gilberto. They’ve played some of the biggest stages around the world including Roskilde, Coachella, Glastonbury, North Sea Jazz, Womad and Central Park Summer Stage, so believe us when we say that you are seriously gonna feel it.
To say we are truly excited is an understatement! Nuff said.
Then on level 2 it’s over to Rare Funk 45 Warriors The Mighty DJ Snowboy and Jazzcotech Founder and bad ass DJ Perry Louis dropping more of the absolute rarest of the rare and funkiest of the funk, the nastiest dance floor driven tunes ever recorded, dropped like rain for daze, all night long. The South London Soul Train line up completed on Level 3 with The Northern Soul Room. Rob Messer + Special guests dropping yet more Positively Seismic Northern Soul Vibrations on the masses. Soulfully Well Ard + Don’t forget the new Chill Out Zone in the basement. A place to cool your heels and chill your soul between mighty stints on one of or all of the 3 huge dance floors!
As always, all floors taking all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. P-Funk to Jazz Funk, Soul Jazz to Rare Groove N’ Stax, Motown to Club Classics and Anthems.
However, Passengers are requested to check their Souls at the Station as this ones for good time party people only! No Bass Wobbles Here, Only Love, Funk and Souuuuuuuul.
Admission is £5/7 Adv from RA or £7 OTD / Taking place on the 1st + 3rd Sat of each month.
