- On Saturday 27th December Kumasi HQ celebrate 2 years of events and we are pulling out all the stops to deliver you a 12 hour dance music marathon featuring some of the world’s finest deep house and nu-disco artists. Let's see out 2014 with a bang! Kumasi Music continues to establish itself at the forefront of London’s house revival and has a threefold influence within the current world of electronic music. As an artist agency, its initial incarnation, it houses a considered mixture of established players in the world of deep house, as well as nurturing and developing a chosen few talents both local and overseas. As a record label, Kumasi Music is just starting on its journey, but is rapidly developing a sound defined by dynamic basslines and a nostalgic ear for disco and classic deep house, and as a party brand, Kumasi Music showcases have seen sell-outs across the UK in dockyards, warehouses, terraces, studios and Pentecostal churches alike, whilst hosting esteemed guests including Dusky, Kolombo, Ben Pearce, Lovebirds, HNQO, No Artificial Colours, Amine Edge & DANCE and Leftwing & Kody. Kumasi’s 2nd Birthday sees the party take over one of London’s most popular multifunctional afterhours venues in Fire, a sublime space which has played host to the likes of Innervisions, Bedrock, Moon Harbour, Bugged Out and Viva Warriors over the past 12 months. Spread over 3 expansive railway arches kitted with Funktion One sound throughout, Kumasi invites special guests from heavyweight house music labels Diynamic, Hot Creations, Mobilee, DFA and Disco Deviance to celebrate their Birthday in style. His forward thinking productions and versatility as a DJ have ensured him a place as one of the leading names in dance music. Graeme’s solo productions have found homes on revered international labels including DFA, Pokerflat, Needwant, My Favorite Robot and his own deceased, but much sought after, Instruments Of Rapture, and with his long awaited debut album due for release in Spring 2015, The Revenge story is beginning an exciting new chapter. Belgian Fuse and Café d’Anvers resident Dj IGOR VICENTE is responsible for a series of original stellar productions on Seth Troxler, Shaun Reeves, Lee Curtiss & Ryan Crosson’s infamous Visionquest label, Guy Gerber’s Supplement Facts, Jamie Jones’ Hot Creations, Anja Schneider’s Mobilee Records and Audiofly’s Maison d’être, whilst his remixes have appeared on Saved, Get Physical & Air London. Anybody who has followed the rise of Solomun’s Diynamic Records will know all about ’Ego’, a former club situated in Hamburg and owned by the label. The renowned club was run by MAGDALENA, a close member of the Diynamic Family. After five years of taking care of the club she now finds herself on the other side of the decks following her passion for music becoming the first lady of the Diynamic roster. Now Magdalena finds herself playing gigs all around the world in clubs like Weekend and Watergate in Berlin, and Pacha and Cova Santa in Ibiza to name but a few. A vinyl purist and Dj for over 18 years, you could call ANDRE LODEMANN a Pro. He started to produce music in 2001 releasing 12" records and remixes on Moods n Grooves, Simple Records, Freerange and Buzzinfly before founding his own label Best Works Records in 2009, where he released such 12-inches as ‘Searchin’, ‘You Never Know’ and the deep house classic ‘Where Are You Now’. Fresh off the back of their latest Kumasi deep house smash ‘The Ride’, ever present Kumasi Music Party residents MATT FEAR & KREATURE are back in the capital for an extended 3 hour back-to-back deep and tech house masterclass. Completing the Kumasi Arch line-up alongside Kumasi Twi new signings AREA 8 and Confetti Digital resident ARTIKAL, is London’s Queen of the Underground, Bang FM DJ, and one half of Mr and Mrs Smith, JAKKI DEGG London party crew House Entertainment take care of proceedings in Arch 2 in conjunction with Abyss, which is headed by legendary Disco Deviance duo PETE HERBERT and DICKY TRISCO. Pete Herbert is responsible for some of nu-disco’s most destructive remixes of the past few years, whilst Scot Disco Deviance label head Dicky Trisco takes his DD parties all over the globe and whist production fans include the likes of Greg Wilson, Maurice Fulton, Ashley Beedle and Andrew Weatherall. Arch 3 sees the EL Turbo crew channel the spirit of the Hacienda, Paradise Garage, The Warehouse and Northern Soul, where residents spin anything from records bubbling with Ibizan Latin excitement, warmth and positivity, to only the best in latest house sounds alongside the classics from Chicago and New York, 80s Italo disco, Boogie and Balearic.
