After 5 million singles, 360,000 albums sold worldwide and a Grammy, MTA Records has now reached a prolific milestone. Founded in 2009 by Will Kennard and Saul Milton, otherwise known as Chase & Status, MTA Records is turning 5 and you're all invited to celebrate their birthday.
With previous MTA events billing secret guests along the lines of Skrillex, Chase & Status, David Rodigan, DJ EZ, Skream, Plan B, Knife Party, Skepta & Preditah, Nero, Toddla T, Noisia, Heartless Crew and Foreign Beggars – you can expect a tasty selection of prestigious artists in the house.
Joining label head-honchos Chase & Status will be Grammy Award-winning NERO and a very special secret guest.
After the Red Bull Soundclash crowned Chase & Status, Shy FX, David Rodigan and MC Rage as ‘Rebel Sound’ as the triumphant winners, we are extremely proud to announce Shy FX as one of the birthday headliners. MTA are proud to count him as one of their closest allies and can’t wait to have him celebrate their 5th birthday.
Fast rising in the electronic music scene is Londoner Kove whose remixes for Chase & Status, Bastille and John Newman’s no.1 single ‘Love Me Again’ has seen him play sets across all the key festivals last summer including Glastonbury, Secret Garden Party and Lovebox.
New and exciting MTA signing Dimension has been earning his stripes gaining support from all the top radio figureheads including Zane Lowe, Annie Mac and Friction. Also added to the bill is house kid-on-the-block TCTS and Bristol-based electronic duo GotSome whose new ‘Vibe Out’ track with Wiley is tearing up clubs nationwide.
Also making an appearance is the very talented Dream Mclean - who’ll be showcasing material from his recent Greyscale project which features Professor Green - plus support from 20-year-old Liverpool-based SG Lewis.
With special guests in the building and some special production in the club, Friday 19th December at Oval Space certainly promises to be more than a lot!
