After an incredible sell out show with Duke Dumont and Isaac Tichauer, Set One Twenty returns this March 6th with an enormous line up. Switching things up from our usual schedule, we are introducing to you; Rising stars: Claptone, Karma Kid, Voices of Black, Monitor 66 and AppleBottom. Who will be gracing the decks and producing something new to our mid-week slot at The Garage. By extending the intimate boundaries of The Garage across two floors, we will be displaying a new never seen before venue which will be showcased for the first time! Don’t leave it too late and make sure you grab your tickets soon!
CLAPTONE [Exploited]
Up to the present day, Claptone releases have been birthed on Germany’s influential Exploited label, picking up props from the likes of Pete Tong, DJ Sneak, Soul Clap, DJ Hell & Jesse Rose. Whilst they have continued to roam in their own circles, 2012 proved to be a year dominated by their infectious ‘Cream’ track. It became an immediate hit, topping new world charts across Beatport and RA, whilst the sonic conjuring of the ‘Night On Fire’ EP also lured all those who heard it, resulting in another Top 20 hit. But that’s not all, for the creativity flows freely in our hero's, and their track ‘Another Night’ also proved to be just as successful on the dance floor.
The future is bright for Claptone, continuing with new releases ‘Wrong’ and ‘No Eyes’ which are solidly standing at no.2 and 3 on beatport.

KARMA KID [Just Us]
At just 18 years old, Matlock resident, Sam Knows A.K.A Karma kid, is making huge waves in the UK bass scene. Mixing garage, RnB and House, Karma Kid’s sonic signature is instantaneously recognizable. Enjoying frequent play on Radio 1 by DJ Annie Mac, having his single ‘It’s Always’ released by record label ‘Just Us’ (fronted by Bondax), and being named record of the week by Nick Grimshaw, 2012 proved to be an explosive start for Karma Kid and 2013 is set to be even bigger.

VOICES OF BLACK [Wolf + Lamb/Double Standard]
Voices of Black are an American duo consisting of Julian ‘Jules Born’ Randolph and Baba Doherty. Randolph and Doherty first met in high school and began recording music together as teenagers. The twosome in that time were introduced to the NYC based record label and artistic collective known as Wolf+Lamb by Nicolas Jaar, a former classmate of Doherty. VOB then released what they called an "experimental house beat tape" entitled 'Plastic Dolls'. The project drew inspiration from eclectic sources such as underground hip hop, disco, soul, ambient and electronic dance music. Their album was inspired by their fascination with supermodel Anna Beatriz Barros and the modelling industry as a whole. As well as Double Standard records which they have recently signed to and released music through Wolf + Lamb records.
Their next release, on Gadi Mizrahi's Double Standard Records, is an EP that builds on the unrestricted, innovative sound of 'Plastic Dolls'. The EP features two new tracks 'Have You To Myself' and 'Take Back Soho', with remixes from Tanner Ross and Ryan Cavanagh aka Slow Hands. In 2009, Voices of Black self-released their initial departure from their hip hop roots ‘Tomorrow's Today’ Voices of black will certainly bring something smooth to our midweek slot at The Garage.

MONITOR 66 [House Of Disco] (LEEDS DEBUT)
Swedish Duo Monitor 66 had quite possibly the biggest nu-disco tune of 2012 with ‘Triscuits” which Opened The Magician’s infamous Magic Tape. Signed to House of Disco, Monitor 66 are up and coming producers who's unique productions and nostalgic sound make their work stand out amongst the crowd. Monitor 66 will be making their Leeds debut playing at Set One Twenty in March!

APPLEBOTTOM [Madtech] (LEEDS DEBUT)
Recently Signed to Mad-Tech Apple Bottom is one of the rising stars of 2013. Smoothly amalgamating various different elements of UK underground dance music such as garage house and techno, Apple Bottom’s punchy productions are sure to have the dance floors bumping. Apple Bottom will be making his Leeds debut playing at Set One Twenty.
Finally supporting this line up will be the ever present Set One Twenty duo of Alex Street and James Perrin who always bring the heat by playing a fresh new take on disco-tropical and uplifting deep house, as well as Set One Twnety's other resident Corsair.
