- Black Cherry at Zhivago is delighted to present Los Angeles Electronic Music sensations, Classixx for an exclusive one night only live DJ set as part of their Pure Distraction Australian tour on Sunday 9th November, 2014. ________________________________ Originally going by the name Young Americans, Michael David and Tyler Blake formed the production duo Classixx in Los Angeles. Barely into their twenties, Classixx have been a solid force behind defining a new sound for the Los Angeles electronic music scene. A refreshing change from the trance and techno inspired Electro that has been dominating dance floors, their Donna Summers-esque grooves have caught the ears of music aficionados, fans and artists alike. The Classixx duo have been approached by indie music hipsters such as Phoenix, The Ting Tings, Gossip, Passion Pit, Yacht and the Shiny Toy Guns for their outstanding remix work, and their funky midtempo sound continues to turn heads worldwide. After making their mark on the music scene through their remix work, Classixx released their debut LP, Hanging Garden in 2013 to much acclaim. Rolling Stone Magazine even rated it as one of the top 20 Dance Album released for that year. Their infectious sounds and energetic stage presence saw them included in the iconic Coachella Music Festival line-up this year, as well being featured at the Sydney Vivid Festival Future Classics party.
