Niche and Sydney Opera House by arrangement with Feel Presents announce the long awaited return for Canadian producer Caribou, playing exclusive headline shows in Sydney & Melbourne.
2015 will mark a welcome return to Australia for Caribou. Already featured as album of the week on Double J, FBI, Triple R and RTR, their latest album, “Our Love”, is “something of a smorgasbord – ranging from old-school house and 80’s synth-funk to unadultered 90’s R&B, all appropriated with idiosyncratic flair.” 2SER.
The chameleonic Canadian producer, Dan Snaith, explores the spaces between psychedelia, krautrock, electronica and dance. What has resulted is an eclectic back catalogue that explores the endless possibilities of electronic music; a swirling and lush musical panorama.
Caribou has a knack of sounding authentically retro, yet utterly contemporary at the same time. His live set consists of energetic beats, fuzzy bass lines and techno riffs blending and molding diverse backgrounds, fused together in a united, vibrant pulse. UK Independent describe it as “balancing epic oscillations and waveforms with more subtle touches, whether frangible percussion or psychedelic flute line. When they abandon themselves to house’s blissed-out nirvana, though, Caribou feel unstoppable”.
Touring nationally this January and February as part of St Jerome’s Laneway Festival, Caribou has just announced a series of side-show performances in Sydney and Melbourne.
