RED BULL MUSIC ACADEMY PRESENTS LONE Live / AV feat Konx-Om-Pa
Hot on the heels of Detroit's DJ Godfather who took over Australia last month, the Red Bull Music Academy returns with its famed Club Nights, bringing Britain's best in the shape of Lone to our shores in November, plus Chicago legend Ron Trent in December.

With RBMA Club Nights in Oz now national, Lone will kick off his Australian jaunt at Boney (Melbourne) Friday 21 November, then play Woolly Mammoth (Brisbane) Saturday 22, Goodgod Small Club (Sydney) Thursday 27, onto The Good Shepherd Bar (Perth) Friday 28 and then wrap up his whirlwind trip at Rocket Bar in Adelaide on Saturday 29. Konx-om-Pax, Harry & Skippy, Gavin Boyd and the Lengmen DJs are among a raft of local supports who'll set the scene – check the line-up and RSVP details below.
Known to those at home as Matt Cutler, for years Lone was just a kid in his bedroom dabbling in Hip Hop, early 90s Hardcore, Techno and Electronic music. He made waves in 2008 as his debut opus 'Lemurian' got rave reviews from all corners of the industry, winning props from the likes of Bleep, Kode9, Rustie, James Holden and countless others. Since then he's released 5 albums and over 100 tracks, cruising through a huge list of genres from Hazy Beats, House, Classic Rave and Detroit Techno, though always infused with his own distinctive sound.
It's new album 'Reality Testing' however that cements Lone at his place at the top of the table of the world's producers. From imprint R&S the LP hums with chilled-out vibes that set the scene for summer, with folks at Mixmag, DJ Mag, Pitchfork and The Guardian all agreeing it's some of his best work to date. Featuring upbeat rhythms, warm synths and unbridled enthusiasm that gets hands in the air, Lone's music thrums with the kind of energy that happens when the artist is doing what he loves best. It's been said by someone, somewhere that it's harder to make happy music than sad and if so, Lone's genius is everything it's amped up to be.
