You wouldn’t believe it but it’s been 9 years since Noise In My Head first hit the on air switch and to celebrate, we’ll be cutting cake with our family at Club 77 on November 22.
With Japanese culture being an infinite source of our inspiration, it seems fitting to host one of Tokyo’s finest - KZA. KZA first hit the scene in the 90s as part of sample duo Force of Nature with DJ Kent (The Backwoods), who boiled down their massive record collections and additional production skill into three albums. Once regular guests at Harvey’s Sarcastic Disco parties, they were also the go to choice for his discoteque at Lovebox earlier this year. Utilising the sample and editing techniques from his formative days as a hip hop track maker, KZA's solo releases on Mule subsidiary Endless Flight find new beat classics evolving into dreamy Throbbing Gristle sequences and French monologues becoming euphoric acid club closers. He's also behind the Let's Get Lost edit series that has issued tape cuts from Daniele Baldelli, Cos/Mes, JD Twitch and Thomas Bullock.
We haven't stopped there, recruiting long standing party smashers D&D, aka HAHA's Dave Fernandes and Dean Dixon. These two patron saints of Sydney have really made this city a better place, challenging our sanity by hosting the likes of Sotofett, Hunee, Robert Hood and Tim Sweeney. It's time to say thank you.
