Avalon Emerson has quickly become a name to watch in electronic dance music. Her production style is as eclectic as her DJ sets, which omnivorously drift between the twin poles of passionate American house and cool European techno while incorporating the disparate aspects of break-laden rave, '80s pop, Italo, and playful Belgian new beat.
Though a young talent, her original works and remixes have been recognized as a vital new voice in dance music by Resident Advisor, XLR8R, SPEX, Mixmag, DE: Bug, and NPR's All Songs Considered. A rare talent on the turntables, she plays longform sets — with portable isolator in tow — that are rooted in the explosiveness and narrative cohesion of old-school American DJing.
