BOOM ROOM
Noise of Art returns to Convergence with a theme inspired by the role of sound manipulation in electronic music. To celebrate sound effects, and in particular reverb, Noise of Art is turning unusual locations and buildings into giant effects units. Just as early recording studios were built to have reverb, Noise of Art is creating an effects chambers in unusual architectural locations, such as an aircraft hanger in a disused US nuclear airforce base and a brewery and gin distillery. These effects chambers will be used live and broadcast over broadband.
Launching this new series at Convergence, Noise of Art has invited pioneering producers Andrew Weatherall and Mental Overdrive (Love OD, Norway) to DJ alongside live sets from Rocket Girl acts Eat Lights Become Lights and White Noise Sound (UK LP launch). Parisian producer Saycet will also be joined by Clara B and Noise of Art’s Ben Osborne.
