Matthew Herbert
One of the most shifting and restless electronic musicians in the UK, Matthew Herbert has made over 30 albums under a myriad of monikers for almost 20 years. His work is frequently challenging, political and thought provoking - moving across genre, media and culture. But, for the first time in eight years, he’s decided to return to his original Herbert house roots.
Last year, Matthew released follow-ups to Herbert’s Parts series which started in 1996. This Convergence show will be preceded by a new Herbert album, The Shakes. This Herbert performance will be the first chance to shape his musical direction, featuring new singers and other live instrumentation. Rather than a flat regurgitation of Matthew’s material, Herbert’s live show will still push back and re-sample.
