We’re beyond excited to present a special Cititrax showcase, celebrating an incredible year for the Minimal Wave label and its techno-leaning offshoot. Joining us are label founder/curator-extraordinaire Veronica Vasicka, techno luminary Silent Servant, and the trailblazing An-i aka Lee Douglas from Berlin. Expect nothing less than an all-night dance affair, featuring the finest in full-bodied, genre-bending electronics.

Veronica Vasicka has an unmatched ear for the obscure. Through her tireless archival work and impeccable quality control, Vasicka has developed Minimal Wave into one of the New York underground’s most influential labels, and a treasured genre in its own right. Watching Minimal Wave sub-label Cititrax become a home for 2014’s most ground-breaking techno was one of the year’s most pleasant surprises, and we’re thrilled to be showcasing that sound for SF. Keep your ears peeled during Veronica’s set, and expect visionary sounds from the past, present, and future.

Through his involvement in Sandwell District, Downwards, and now Jealous God, Silent Servant has shaped the landscape of forward-thinking dance music with an output that is as varied as it is fundamental. “Violence & Divinity,” Silent Servant’s joint EP with Broken English Club for Cititrax, fused the best of pounding techno and wave-minded synthwork in perfect harmony, providing yet another example of his boundless expertise. Chances are, if you have an ear for techno, you’re already as excited for this as we are.

Having already made a name for himself as a renowned DJ in House & Disco, Berlin-based Lee Douglas came out swinging in 2014 with a series of full-blown, explosive techno under the mysterious moniker An-i. “Kino-i” and “Gutz,” both released via Cititrax, found An-i on several best-of lists in 2014 and for good reason. His sounds will knock you on your feet and make you beg for mercy, and you’ll love every moment of it. The An-i vision will be on full display with a combined Live PA & DJ set, and we can’t wait to hear it.
