Grey Area x Eartoground with Cleric, Gareth Wild & Habgud

  • After the success of our first party back in December, we have decided to team up with London based techno label EarToGround for our next date on Saturday the 28th of February. We return to Joshua Brooks where this time round we welcome back Cleric, who played an absolute belter at our first party. EarToGround label boss, Gareth Wild and Sheffield based artist Habgud. Founded in 2011, ETG’s aim was to fill the void within the city of London by bringing top quality techno to a city that had little of it. Since then the label, ran by Gareth Wild, Chris Stanford & Dax J has cemented its place not just within the city but within the techno scene as a quality label churning out top class releases. Over the past few years, releases have come from all three founders, Cleric, Secluded, dualit and more. With each one usually featuring a remix or two from some of the biggest in the game. Ø [Phase], Shifted and Truncate to name a few. All releases are varied and offer something new to the genre and we couldn’t be happier bringing them to Manchester. If you came to the event in December or are already aware of the Mancunian artist Cleric, you will know that he is certainly one to watch for 2015. His sets and music are unforgiving, 2014 was a huge year for the artist with releases on Len Faki’s Figure, Emmanuel’s A R T S & Gareth Wild’s EarToGround. This year is already shaping up to be a big one as his own label C L E R G Y is set to take off in early February, the Codes Of Chaos EP has already been getting support from the likes of Rodhad, Marcel Dettmann & Ben Sims. If you missed him last time round then here is your chance again to catch one of the rising stars of techno as he comes home again for the showcase of EarToGround. Following we have EarToGround label boss Gareth Wild, who has a string of releases on the label including the ETG007 ‘Villains’ EP with Dax J and the ‘Kommand’ EP which we really recommend a listen to! Gareth is also well-recognized name within London’s techno scene with regular sets at Fabric, Corsica Studio’s, 1001 & EGG. He is able to see the potential in artist’s and this has seen his label ETG really lift off. It has also seen the label tie down a residency at Corscia Studio’s and work closely with the London based event Jaded. Up next for a release on EarToGround is none other than Jonas Kopp. Supporting the two EarToGround artists is Habgud, a Sheffield based producer who again has releases lined up for 2015 including the ‘Static’ EP.
