You do not want to miss this legendary icon throw down an exclusive 3 Hour set! There's no school like the old school, and Chris Fortier is the f*cking headmaster! ================================================================ ::Chris Fortier [Fade Records, Bedrock, Auricle, NY]:: While many people may claim to know Chris’ sound, with their focus on labeling him one thing or another, Chris is equally as focused on his efforts to push back the musical boundaries. It is testament to the man that he continues to develop his sound and musical direction, after all, as the man says himself “I just like to play good underground music, I don’t limit myself. I am growing musically everyday, and the music I create and play reflects that”. It is artists such as Chris Fortier who are inextricably linked to the underground dance music scene that are the genuinely pushing the sound forward. Chris’ determination to continue to push the envelope can be seen in all aspects of his career. Proof of this can be found on his now classic triple CD compilation Balance and his recent solo productions including his stellar debut artist album As Long As The Moment Exits. The Balance 007 CD was a integral part of the now worldwide successful Balance series and brand. The album was a musical forecast of the fresh and exciting underground movement as we know it today. It is little wonder the CD was name checked for compilation of the year by numerous international magazines and websites. Taking his production a step further in 2007, his debut artist album was released to countless plaudits and impeccable praise. Followed by the remix version of the album saw Chris work along side the likes of Joel Mull, Ed Davenport, Mark Broom, Someone Else, Bruno Pronsato, Pheek and Maetrik. Under his 40oz production guise Chris has released the several EPs and remixes that musically spreads comfortably across labels such as Bedrock, Wave Music, Cocoon, Kompakt or Get Physical. Recent remixes of Jim Rivers, Pfirter, Alexi Delano, Adultnapper, Derek Marin, Alland Byallo and John Selway, show Chris’ genre defying sound at it’s underground best. Not satisfied with status quo, Chris looks for the boundaries to continue to be pressed and pushed with each coming musical excursion. Chris has been a consistent figure on the world tour circuit with a professional DJ career spanning 19 plus years. He has continually been a crowd favorite, confirmed by his very first residency at the legendary “Aahz” in Orlando through to residencies at The Cross in London and at Twilo in his adopted home of New York. Behind numerous singles, remixes, artist albums and no less than 9 commercially released mix albums, you can catch him as easily in Tokyo as in Buenos Aires and all points in between on any given weekend. To those that know Fortier’s history, they know to expect plenty more to come, for those that are just getting initiated, Welcome! ::Rodd Sim [Auricle Records, D.C]:: Rodd Sim was introduced to the underground electronic music scene over 20 years ago in Los Angeles, CA. He quickly became attuned to the sounds of John Digweed, Chris Fortier, Dave Seaman and Nick Warren. Shortly thereafter he joined the military and was first stationed in Honolulu, HI. Being in love with the rave scene, its culture and music made the decision to start DJing easy. He quickly established himself under the guise "Eclipse" as a Progressive DJ. Starting in Honolulu, HI and quickly gathering a following and playing at the biggest shows on the island. He became a resident of 1739 the premier after-hours spot as well as the Groove and Pink Cadilacs. His biggest accomplishment while in Hawaii was opening directly in front of Carl Cox as the year turned from 1999 to 2000. What a way to finish one millennium and move into another. After that he moved to Georgia. Starting fresh in a new scene is never easy, but he quickly picked up where he left off as well as began his journey as a traveling DJ. He played all the major shows in Augusta, GA as well as playing regularly in Atlanta. Most notably with John Digweed and Josh Wink as well as at the Planet of the Drums tour with AK1200, Dara and Dieselboy. Also during this time he travelled to Cleveland, Phoenix, Los Angeles, Denver and Tampa to play. Shortly thereafter he had to start another chapter in his life when he moved to North Carolina. Being that he was in the military it put him in the position to move around a great deal. This time however it slowed his DJ career down. He found himself regularly deployed to either Afghanistan or Iraq. It was then that he decided to make a change and reinvent himself to change with everything that he has been through. This is when Rodd Sim was born. He honed and crafted his new sound as a house and techno DJ one that you would find in the depths of the underground. The deeper, darker side is where you would find him bringing you some of the most driving Techno and Tech house. He has shared the airwaves amongst some of the biggest names in techno such as UMEK, and Tom Hades, on what once was TechTribal’s weekly airing of the DRUMTRAIN on TechnoHouse.fm. He also turned his time into more production work and has releases or remixes on TechTribal Records, Pop Rox Records, Clandestine Recordings, Kool Katz Recordings as well as his own label Auricle Recordings. His continuing success in production and music has garnered even better results as his record label has now been accepted to be the first ever label artist showcase on EDM Jam Radio (www.edmjamradio.com) which is based out of Amsterdam and broadcast internationally. Get ready for raw, dark, gritty techno blended with layers of synths to bring a perfectly infused sound. His record label has already featured some of the best and brightest in the industry such as Chris Fortier, Luke Mandala, Stephen J Kroos, HumanTraffik, JUST 2 just to name a few!!! The year 2014 was already big. Now, 2015, is going to be huge. His recent remix from Clandestine Recordings of “Curcuma” was selected as DJ Sneak’s favorite on the release. Between the time he lived in Denver and now Washington DC, Rodd Sim has been playing some of the biggest and best venues in both cities. He has not only played at Beta (The #1 club in the United States per Rolling Stone), but also at Flash in DC which is one of the best venues in the area. With more shows being scheduled at some of the best places around the world the sky is the limit. Rodd Sim as played with some of the biggest names in the world to include, Keoki, Reza, John Digweed, Damian Lazarus, Miguel Cambell, Lee Foss, Chris Fortier, Sandra Collins, Kenneth Thomas, HumanTraffik, Doorly, Noel Sanger, Anthony Pappa, Hunter/Game and many more. Having received praise from Dave Seaman, Chris Fortier, Noel Sanger, Doorly, Damian Lazarus, Miguel Campbell, Roger Sanchez, Donald Glaude, Perfecto's Kenneth Thomas, Stephen J Kroos, Nick Wolanski, Nino Bua, Sandra Collins, and Bunny from Rabbit in the Moon to name a few… ::Local Talent TBA::
