Coercion presents a night of noisy electronics and techno with an exclusive live performance from Leeds hardware act Chrononautz, who will be injecting Rye Wax with their spiky, raw DIY techno sounds and spirit. We’re delighted to host their debut live London show and cannot wait to hear the thrilling and charged sounds from the duo’s acclaimed Public Domain Fuckover Series live in Peckham. We’re also excited to announce the inclusion of promising producer Vacated to the line-up. As the irrepressible host of the highly rated fortnightly show, We Have Vacated on the forward thinking electronic online radio station Future Music, he is an expert selector concerning all things techno and beyond. Expect to hear more from him in 2015. Finally, keeping things ticking over will be the Coercion residents.
CHRONONAUTZ (LIVE)
Expect a large array of live electronics in an often joyous onslaught, both carefully crafted and loosely improvised... flirting the boundaries of techno, subtly revealing a wide range of influence, harmony, brutalism, abstraction and psychedelic blurs with a playfulness fit to cause chaos on the dancefloor.
Chrononautz are a live duo who have been heavily involved in the murky depths of experimental/art/noise/music/other for over a decade, with releases under different aliases on labels such as Upset The Rhythm and Dummy and a hefty touring schedule sharing stages with Sun Ra's Arkestra, Thurston Moore, Damo Suzuki (Can), Lightning Bolt, Chrome Hoof, Chris Corsano, etc.
Their unique approach to techno has gained support from Bok Bok, DJ Haus (Unknown To The Unknown), The Public Stand, Altered Natives, Truss, Bleaching Agent (etc) and featured by Todd Burns (Resident Advisor, Red Bull Music Academy) in his top 10 tracks of 2012 for New York's Village Voice alongside the likes of Fis, Bass Clef, Amé and Hieroglyphic Being.
PUBLIC DOMAIN FUCKOVER SERIES #1-6 was picked by The Quietus at number 27 in their list of the best 100 albums of 2014.
