Generators: Chapter 6

  • Honey Soundsystem in partnership with Smart Bar Chicago invite you to an artist talk-back on Saturday December 5th from 6pm-8pm at Smart Bar that is free and open to the public. Throughout 2015 Honey Soundsystem, San Francisco's renowned queer music collective, has been developing its multimedia nightclub project Generators. In collaboration with a range of multigenerational and multidisciplinary artists, Generators has told a 6 episode story about the mythical role of the dance-floor in queer liberation and queer life. The episodes were presented both as an online audio story and an in-person nightclub experience where the story came alive in DJ sets and sculptural pieces adorning the dancefloor. Join us as we share this work and discuss the artwork with many of the contributing artists. Attendees will be able to view a year's worth of multimedia installation work by Chicago artist Tom Slazinski and each audio episode of the project on shall be showcased on Smart Bar's infamous Function One sound system.
