Since his debut for the Modern Love label in 2005, Andy Stott’s output has veered from deepest Techno to broken 2-step, slowed down House, hyperactive Footwork, analog Grime and wavey/pop mutations - always referencing his unique stylistic signatures: deep, complex and oddly beautiful. Stott’s most recent album Faith In Strangers was built and rendered in the spirit of those rare albums that straddle innovation and tradition through darkness and light. Voted Album of the Year for 2014 by Resident Advisor, Faith in Strangers also featured in countless year-end lists.
Untold’s production work has changed the climate of dancefloors around the globe. He first started releasing works of unsettlingly brilliant atmospheric bass on Hessle Audio before launching two key underground labels, Pennyroyal and Hemlock Recordings (home to the work of artists including Mount Kimbie, Fantastic Mr Fox, CosminTRG, Ramadanman and James Blake). Drawing on his past experiences in Jungle and Hardcore, his groundbreaking work in bass music and his more recent forays into 4x4, Untold delivers music that is supple yet rough and relentlessly inventive.
