DJ EZ is a music phenomenon. Hailed by the industry as, “The owner of the quickest fingers in the trade, mixing with more creativity, instinct and technical prowess than pretty much anyone.” Like his favourite football team Tottenham Hotspurs, he’s in the premier league. With over 2 million copies of his Pure Garage compilations sold and never-ending bookings, his first live streamed set for Boiler Room has been witnessed by over 600,000 viewers, which he followed up in February 2014. This second session has already amassed to almost half a million replays, endorsing DJ EZ’s credibility even more. His tune selection carefully intertwines the nostalgic with the new, which can be heard on his highly acclaimed Fabriclive 71 compilation, released in September 2013.
In June 2013, DJ EZ was invited by Disclosure to play at their album launch. The brothers declared, “This man is god.” As DJ EZ switched effortlessly between 2-step and 4-to-the-floor classics with inserts of upfront cuts, confirming he’s still one of the greatest garage DJs ever. That same year DJ EZ was selected by UK broadcaster Channel 4 to play at Red Bull’s Revolutions in Sound which took over the EDF Energy London Eye seeing DJ EZ take house and garage music to new heights; 400ft to be precise! He then embarked on his first Australian tour making a fantastic debut down under gracing the decks in Perth, Sydney and Melbourne. With a US agent in place more ravers across the atlamtic lost their minds over two tours with DJ EZ entertaining crowds in New York, Hollywood LA, Washington and Miami to name a few. He has also made his debut in September playing to sold out venues in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand.
Not just a highly reputable DJ, producer and promoter, he’s also an established broadcaster. Since November 2000, DJ EZ has presented a live weekly show on Kiss FM UK. EZ’s show was the go-to- place for tracking down those classic cuts and exclusive plays but due to the demand for EZ to play in venues across the world, he had to bring the show to an end in September 2014 but has other plans for radio shows so watch this space!!
With the rebirth of 4/4 beats as favoured by today’s hottest young artists, the sound is in safe hands. The future is garage and the DJ is EZ.
