All Gone Pete Tong

  • There are few individuals in the world of dance music who can claim the kind of influence Pete Tong has had over the last twenty years. As the voice of Radio 1’s prestigious dance programming, Pete has held a commanding presence over the industry for more than two decades. His unique position has earned him a reputation as the global ambassador of dance music. With an unparalleled ear for new talent, Tong has become the leading tastemaker of the electronic generation. While he’s known publicly as Pete Tong the DJ, behind the scenes, he’s an industry icon. Terje Olsen, better known as Todd Terje is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter and record producer. In the mid 2000s the "King of the summer jams" (Mixmag) made his name with a string of remixes and re-edits. He has been a headliner at the prestigious Sónar Festival in Barcelona, was featured in the Rolling Stone list of 'The 25 DJs that rule the earth' and absolutely blew us away with his sensational BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix. In April 2014 he brought out his first real studio album suitably named "It's Album Time" on Olsen Records which we highly recommend listening to. It is however fair to say he is somewhat best known for his unforgettable 2012 track "Inspector Norse" which he can seen playing Live here. 2014 has been a huge year for the Berlin-based house staple. He released a remix for the Beatport smash ‘Shake That’ by Marlon Hoffstadt & Dansson, on Pete Tong’s new imprint FFRR alongside Shadow Child, Blonde and Jesse Rose. 2014 has also seen Oliver Dollar reunite with Swiss Jazz House aficionado Jimi Jules for their anticipated debut release on the mighty Defected ‘Pushing On’, out March 24th which stayed at number 1 on the Beatport Top 100 for over 4 weeks. The track peaked at number 15 on the UK Singles Chart and was the second most Shazamed track in Ibiza for 2014. Dance music’s triple threat, Disciples, are the producers, vocalists and DJs that have been labelled with the dry, crusty aphorism of being “the ones to watch this year,” but they have undoubtedly met that expectation. Pete Tong himself has long praised Disciples for their work and “They Don’t Know” is no exception. The BBC Radio 1 king even knighted the song his Essential New Tune at the end of last year.
