It’s the deepest, craziest stage of the touring juggernaut that is Future Music Festival – and now world renowned Ibiza legend Sven Väth is bringing extra love to Sydney fans, and keeping an annual tradition alive by announcing Cocoon is back at Sydney’s Metro Theatre for exclusive show featuring some very special guests on Friday 6 March.
Taking over the entire Metro (including back room The Lair) for the fifth consecutive year, get set for one truly epic night that kicks off at 9pm and goes right on through to 5am to the next day! Väth will once again perform a special three-hour set and joining the party is a hot list of international artists who are also touring on Future’s Cocoon Stage: Seth Troxler, Green Velvet, Art Department and Apollonia – the latter also performing a whopping three-hour set on the night. PLUS there’s a crew of hand-picked Aussie locals joining in: U-Khan, Marc Jarvin and Dave Stuart, with visuals provided by Cocoon’s own Ibiza residents Reach Visuals. This gonna be one truly amazing night – if you’re looking for the best party in Sydney, Cocoon Heroes is seriously not to be missed!
Sven Väth is arguably the world’s leading techno pioneer, with over 30 years behind the decks and serious clout. His latest double CD release, Sven Väth in the Mix: The Sound of the Fifteenth Season, is out now. A master of his craft, Väth will be bringing his world famous show for an all-night long dance-fest.
With a huge Aussie following, Seth Troxler is one of the most anticipated acts to head back down under. Troxler recently released ‘Rogue Music’, a 12-inch collaboration with Phil Moffa.
Known for exploring themes from the comedic to the serious (and his many monikers), Curtis Alan Jones – Green Velvet – is one of America’s most captivating producers. One of Curtis’ best known creations, Green Velvet proudly wears a green Mohican and displays a dark sense of humour. He recently launched a new project called Get Real with Claude Von Stroke and is working on an LP with Carl Craig. Green Velvet will be partying alongside his Cocoon buddies all night long!
Leaders of the French underground Shonky, Dan Ghenacia, and Dyed Soundorom – aka Apollonia – are three of Paris’s Hottest DJs, with a strict, one record each policy. Look forward to an epic three-hour set from them too, whipping you into a frenzy of dancing! Toronto party animals, Art Department will be bringing their brand of electro fun to the night, the duo’s second full-length, Natural Selection, released late 2014.
