Giorgio Giri and Marco Lentano, aka Mushrooms Project, come from a common love for all shape of music and affection for vinyl records though from different starting backgrounds - while the first one was a punk drummer, the second one came from afro beat zones - which have flowed fluently into the deep house lagoon.
Inspired by dj-duos like Idjut Boys and Mateo & Matos, in 2003 they founded the project with the primordial intention of reflecting a lysergic unconscious in electronic dance music.
Year 2008 opens a brilliant attack with their productions, straight to Bear Funk first and Electric Minds shortly later. Then they have released original works and remixes on Pizzico, Under The Shade, Is It Balearic?, Tirk and the sister Nang, Hell Yeah! ...
Undisputed Italian knights of the Slo-Tempo and Balearic sound interpreted by deep suggestions, either organic and sidereal traits, electronic psychedelic dilations and vivid instrumental parts, they have created their peculiar universe made by the interaction between universes catching the attention of Mr. Paul Murphy aka Mudd who released their first LP "Undergrass" on Leng Records in May 2003 and the second album of the magic Mushrooms is going to be published by Claremont 56.
In 2014 Mushrooms released the Psilocybe Odyssey series on Opilec where all parts are long musical journeys made by acoustic instruments like flutes (played by Luca Roccatagliati aka Dj Rocca), hang drums (by Marco Selvaggio), bass, guitars (by Ivan “King” Torelli and Francesco Copelli) and percussion … for truly enchanting and soothing listening.
They’re about to deliver a new 12” EP called “Rio Disco” for Hell Yeah! Recordings presented alongside a CD with a special dj mix that traces the Mushrooms’ path across their past productions.
