Barons Court is the debut full-length by local electro-acoustic composer Sarah Davachi, following releases on Important Records’ Cassauna imprint and Full Spectrum. Combining a clever approach to sonic synthesis and live performance with a preternatural attunement to tone and atmosphere, Davachi uses vintage and legendary synths, cello, viola, and unique instrumentation to further enhance her craft on Barons Court. In an era where the synth dominates the topography of experimental music, Davachi’s work stands alone, effortlessly evolving-a complex and rich fantasia of beat frequencies and droning tones.

Kensington Gore
Who doesn’t like a little bloodletting? “Kensington Gore” is the recipe used to create blood in Hammer horror films. Made up of Stephen Wood and Scott Gubbels, the band creates psychedelic-inspired sonic mutations that warrant connections to keyboard-heavy Krautrock, like Harmonia and La Dusseldorf. The songs are a combination of spontaneous and studied, with several being conceived, recorded, and mixed in a single day.

Richard Smith
Recognized as an authority on vintage musical electronics, Richard Smith is an electronics technician and musician with extensive experience rebuilding high-end studio electronic systems by Buchla, Moog, ARP, Roland, Korg, and EMS. Over the last decade, Smith has amassed one of the most comprehensive collections of Buchla electronics, many of which have been featured in the recordings of his group Von Bingen, among others.
