Following on from our party with Skepta last November, we've teamed up with the good folk at Red Bull to bring you a meticulously curated evening of some of the most forward thinking, party music from both the UK & the US.
Representing for across the pond is living legend, Detroit rapper, Danny Brown. Brown will build on the revelations of his lecture earlier in the day with a live performance that's sure to be as out of control as his barnet. An early state-side adopter of the Grime scene, when asked in 2010 what his favourite album of the past 10 years was, Brown placed Dizzee Rascal's 'Boy In Da Corner' in the top spot. Danny's collaboration with Darq E Freaker 'Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine)' is an Astral Black anthem so it's an honour to have him headlining this event for us.
Stepping up in support representing the home team, man of the moment & wunderkid producer, Mumdance is on deck. Joining Mumdance on mic duties is the London City Warlord, grime veteran, Riko Dan. A member of Wiley's Pay As You Go Cartel back in the day, the last few years have seen Riko back on top, touring the world with Grime pioneer, DJ Slimzee and guest appearances on records from everyone including Harmonic 313 to Foreign Beggars.
Joining the pair on the night is a very special, secret guest MC. We're excited to finally have this guy join us at an Astral Black party...you might wanna take time an think about who that might be.
Support comes courtesy of Astral Black residents Jon Phonics & DJ Milktray (fresh off the back of their collaborative 'MilkMakerz' release) and Jaisu (ahead of the release of his much anticipated debut LP) showcasing the label's reputation as a platform for cutting-edge talent in the burgeoning experimental hip hop and new wave grime scenes.
