The productions by Darren J. Cunningham aka Actress are sometimes pigeonholed as non-dance music due to his nasty loops digging into your mind in an unusual way. Yet his love for house, electro, Detroit techno and even R’n’B is always shining through his sophisticated arrangements. His current DJ Kicks mix is a perfect example of that – and it’s also quite danceable, similar to many releases from his label Werkdiscs. The Briton from Wolverhampton will play his debut Boiler floor set, In addition to A Made Up Sound from Holland and Florian Kupfer.
With two 12-inches the Berlin techno label Fachwerk, founded by Mike Dehnert, will celebrate its eighth birthday this year. Since the inception and more than 30 releases later, it could be that Dehnert will organise some Fachwerk parties around Europe. Since 2012, the Berlin-based producer has been no stranger to Stattbad by playing for us over and over again. The up-and-comer Dr. Rubinstein as well as our own talent Andrejko will complete the pounding pleasure.
