If you spent any time on the terrace of DC10 this summer you would of no doubt been dancing to many of the releases from the cecille imprint which hosts the frankfurt based dj and producer Robert Dietz, whos sound is a fusion of techno house and minimal, his warm grooving style really shows his love for deep groove-some house music. with two of Roberts releases making it on the new COCOON album and one track making it on to this years circoloco @ DC10 album we thought it would be rude not to & what better venue to have it than here, a low down dark and dirty hole that is the SCU BAR.
His releases on the awsome label CECILLE have been getting massive support from LUCIANO, CLIVE HENRY, SASCHA DIVE, LOCO DICE, REBOOT, THOMAS MELCHOIR to name a few. His tracks have been making it onto not only DJ's playlists but also topping many of their charts.
Robert was already confronted with the fastidious music taste of his father in his early boyhood. Inevitably this led to the fact that an active interest of consuming and collecting music grew. At the beginning of 1997, when the first contact with Roland 303 and two turntables resulted, the way for the uninhibited enthusiasm to the electronic music was paved. It was predictable that the urge of exploring the clubs followed. Strongly influenced by the scene of Frankfurt, the initially specific direction was driving sexy Techno which developed in the past ten years to minimal, deep, hypnotic House sound which cannot be defined exactly, because not only the hitting minimal sounds, also classical Chicago House records can be discovered in his record case.
His debut was a steady own event in the Clubs of his hometown. Thereupon a union with his friends followed. The innovative project Vanillachinchilla was born. Robert and his crew were established firmly in the nightlife of Frankfurt by their own party row within one year. As a result of this Robert played in some well-known clubs in the national area, e.g., Robert Johnson (Offenbach), CocoonClub (Frankfurt), Halle 02 (Heidelberg), 50 Grad (Mainz), Kinzo (Berlin), U60311 (Frankfurt), 190 East/ Club East (Frankfurt), Basement (Wiesbaden), Lagerhaus (Mannheim).
Roberts intensive passion to music in all their variations and the urge for uncompromising partying are reflected in his dj sets again. Especially in the early morning hours he gets into top gear and then there is no end in sight. Not only for this special morning, as well for the rest of the time because he is absolutely dedicated to the deep sound
