Ireland’s premier electronic music festival, Celtronic 2015 celebrates its fifteenth anniversary this summer. The acclaimed festival which has been described as ‘Ireland’s answer to Sonar’, regularly attracts thousands of music fans to the city of Derry to dance to the world’s best electronic music talent.
This year’s festival will take place from Wednesday June 24th – Sunday June 28th at some of Derry’s finest venues. Among the headliners announced this week are some of the world’s biggest DJs including legendary Detroit techno innovator, DERRICK MAY and one of the shooting stars of the international dance music scene, MANO LE TOUGH who will host an opening night event with his Maeve label mate, THE DRIFTER. One of modern electronic music’s most beloved souls and one of the best DJs in the world, MOVE D, returns to Celtronic following his unforgettable set at last year's festival. Swiss DJ/Producer/Remixer, RIPPERTON, famed for his immersive techno and refined house music will make his Derry debut as will FORT ROMEAU, whose understated take on deep, groove-friendly house and acclaimed album 'Insides' has seen him perform at the world’s best clubs and festivals over the last couple of years. Also DJing at the festival will be OBJEKT, a hugely talented producer and one of the most striking techno producers to emerge in the last-half decade with skills that seep way beyond the dancefloor and into the farthest recesses of contemporary electronic music’s most inventive hinterlands.
As always, live performance from some of the biggest global electronic music acts is a key element of Celtronic’s programme. Resident Advisor’s no.1 live act of 2014, RECONDITE will bring his spellbinding live show to the festival while CLARK, one of the most consistently innovative and exciting acts on the legendary Warp roster – no mean feat among the company of broadly comparable deities like Aphex Twin, Autechre and Boards of Canada – will also bring his stunning show to Derry for the first time at Celtronic 2015. Joining Clark and Recondite will be German House maestro, HENRIK SCHWARZ whose live show is one of the most requested acts in the electronic music scene. Voted in the top 5 live acts in the world by Resident Advisor. Henrik Schwarz has been a true player in the house game since the early noughties, with globally acclaimed releases on Moodmusic, Sonar Kollectiv and Innervisions. Piano wunderkid, FRANCESCO TRISTANO returns to Derry to perform his live show that traces the fine line connecting the classical piano with the latest generation of keyboards and synthesizers.
