Richard West aka Mr.C was born in London in the late 60's. He started MCing in London clubs aged only 16 & soon earned a reputation as a fast talking vivacious rapper working with LWR radio's Ron Tom, Jasper the Vinyl Junkie & Jazzy M. Mr.C then hooked up with Colin Faver & Evil Eddie Richards to became resident rapper at the legendary Camden Palace in London, going on to MC for Colin Faver on the then illegal pirate radio station Kiss FM. Mr.C went into the studio to record his 1st house track with Evil Eddie Richards as Myster-E, which was released in August 1987. This inspired Mr.C to become a DJ to learn more about his beloved House & Techno music so in late '87 Richard took to the decks. Mr.C has since organized, promoted & been resident DJ at: Fantasy ('88), Base (Dungeons '89), Release (91), Harmony (92), Drop (93), Cyclone (94), Vapourspace (94 & 95), Flavour (The End 95 & 96), Subterrain (The End 95 - 2002), Superfreq (Worldwide 2002 - Present), Super Disco Freq (LA 2010 - present) & his new weekly Freq Sundays starts in LA in December. On top of this Mr.C held down a weekly radio show called Future Music with Kiss 100 FM in London from 1993-2002 & has presented TV shows for MTV, FH1, VIVA & BBC. To say that Mr.C is one of the most iconic DJs in the world would be an understatement.
In December 1995 Mr.C opened the legendary night club The End in London with Partner Layo Paskin & then AKA bar 3 years later, which celebrated its 13th anniversary in December 2008 & was lauded as one of the best night clubs in the world, which completely changed the face of clubbing in London. Sadly The End & AKA closed its doors for good on January 24th 2009.
Mr.C is founder & owner of Plink Plonk records, cofounder of End Recordings & founder & co-owner of the Superfreq label, which is now releasing music prolifically. He has recorded under the names, Myster-E, Unity 2, Nu Jacks, Bass Bureau, The Shamen, Mantrac, Somnambulist, Animus Amour, Killer Loop, Mr.C & Tom Parris, Mr.C & 16B, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz & East LA Tek. He is best known as front man & producer of the pop group The Shamen with whom he notched up a string of top 10 hits including Move Any Mountain, Love Sex Intelligence, Boss Drum, Phorever People & the UK number 1 smash hit Ebeneezer Goode. These hits were hits the world over. The Shamen album Boss Drum went double platinum in the UK & they also won a highly coveted Ivor Novelo for Songwriters of the year UK in 1992. Richard's currently recording solo as Mr.C & is also doing collaborations as the Indigo Kidz with Affie Yusuf, with [a]pendics.shuffle, with Omid 16b & with Noel Jackson as East LA Tek & has recent releases on Poker Flat, Get Physical Records & Adjunct Audio as well as his own Superfreq imprint.
In 2013, Mr.C released his long awaited Mr.C album Smell The Coffee, 3 solo singles & 2 Indigo Kidz releases on Superfreq, his Hechizo track for Get Physical, remixes for Mikael Stavöstrand & David Scuba for Riff Raff, as well as remixes for Joint Custody, Xo Chic & House of 909 all on Superfreq & last year Richard has released his debut East LA Tek EP, has had Mr.C remixes released for Felipe Kastegliano on Stark Futures & for Class B Band, & Affie Yusuf & the Midnight Perverts & Troncoso. Mr.C has his remix of Just Be due in late January 2015 & his brand new Solo Mr.C EP due at the end of February, again all on Superfreq. He is also working extensively in the studio on solo Mr.C projects for Get Physical, Items & Things & also Superfreq so expect 2015 to be a prolific year on the production front.
Mr.C runs & promotes Superfreq events, which will celebrate being 13 years old in March 2015 & ran monthly at Mr.C's club The End until it closed down in January 2009. Superfreq now functions bi-monthly in London including a bi-annual residency at the legendary nightclub Fabric & spends the rest of the time hopping around London’s popup warehouse venues. Superfreq also does regular events at Hollywood’s hottest venue Sound as well as hosting underground popup events in Downtown LA. Superfreq also has bi-monthly events in Calais France & regular events in Miami, Brooklyn, Playa Del Carmen & has just started a new bi-monthly with Groovetop in Washington DC & a new quarterly with Volatl / Electro Static in Chicago. This is on top annual events in Russia, Ibiza, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Dallas, San Francisco & other one of events the world over.
Superfreq has accomplished 7 successful seasons in Ibiza, 3 at Club Underground, 2 at the legendary DC10, 1 season at Blu & 3 events at Aura & host’s annual events at BPM Festival in Playa Del Carmen & will be doing events at WMC Festival in Miami as well as hosting events in 2015 at Sonar, Burning Man & ADE.

Every DJ gets his start by sharing in an experience, be it at a club, festival or after-hours party, where a connection to the music is born. Patrick Barry began checking out Boston's club scene at a very early age, frequently attending high profile nights at Boston's renown Avalon nightclub, supporting local talent at Avalon's neighbor and sister club, Axis, and partying the night away at Boston's Rise after hours club. Over several years he slowly immersed himself into Boston's musical melting pot, becoming friends with DJs and producers a like.
With a dedication and desire to grow that is rarely seen in some new DJ's, Patrick honed his skills playing for Boston's eclectic musical community at different house parties, sharing deck time and gaining tips from Boston djs. In October of 2006, Patrick launched himself into the club scene with his first club gig at the infamous Venu nightclub, a notorious spot to launch and introduce new talent into the scene. It was here that Patrick's sound began to evolve and his love for techno grew to compliment his love for house music. His technical skills improving each time he stepped behind the decks, Patrick's undying desire to obtain every track he could to help polish his sound, grew and grew landing gigs regularly at throughout Boston as well as New York, Providence, Ottawa (Canada), Portland, Portsmouth (NH), and Miami alongside djs such as Danny Howells, Chloe Harris, Lee Burridge, Mr. C, Till Von Sein, Clive Henry, La Fleur, Ejeca, Pezzner, Juan MacLean, Adultnapper, Fred Everything, Justin Sloe, Tanner Ross, Mike Swells, and Eli Wilkie.
Patrick is one of the hardest working DJ’s in the New England scene and we are very pleased to have him joining us for this special SUPERFREQ tour-closing event.
