Martin Denev is a piano/keyboard player, concert and studio musician and a DJ with affinity towards NuJazz, NuSoul, funk and groove driven music. Growing up in Bulgaria with classical music education, he studied after that jazz in Rotterdam,Holland and Berklee College in Boston, and latin jazz in Santiago De Cuba. Martin has performed on hundreds of stages and festivals around the world, including North Sea Jazz, Lowlands, World Port Jazz, Midem festival Cannes, Noordeslag, Soundrenaline, Westbury Music Fair, JavaJazz, Passadena JazzFest, Soulnation, Paris, Madrid, Ibiza, Iceland, USA, Canada, Beijing, Mexico, Japan.. He can be heard on variety of recordings from jazz to hiphop, from moviesoundtrack to dance, from latin to electronics, delivering large spectrum of skills and colours, both as a leading artist or a sideman. In 2010 Martin released his first soloalbum Martin Denev "Stolen Blessings", featuring different artists like Colonel Red, Ntjamrosie, Rob van de Wouw, Gea Russell and others, being released in Indonesia on Demajors Independent Label. Tunes from the album appear on compilations in UK on the London based label Soul Unsigned and in Germany on TLounge records. In 2012 Martin Denev released in Indonesia on DeMajors IMI his second album "Bamness", featuring Colonel Red again, Ruth, Soulization and many more, appearing on compilations in Europe, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China. Currently Martin lives on Bali, where he set up the glamspace disco project Audio Flirt with an EP “Ping Pong Geisha” release on Imagenes Recordings, London; the acoustic latin project Republika Latina; releasing on Briza Music with his teckhouse project Martian Piranha; electro house project Manga Electrika and playing festivals with his jazztronica project Jazzawacka. As a DJ he’s got under his belt Sundance Festival, residency at KuDeTa, Townhouse, Sundara, Rockbar Ayana and Unique Rimba, podcasting for XRaydio and spinning at the finest clubs in Bali.
