With the weather finally taking a turn for the better, Forward Disco is excited to announce that they will be holding their series of Spring/Summer events at Cielo. With lineups set, residents Sean Cormac and Chili Davis have enlisted a roster of seasoned veterans as well as up and coming artists, both from the heart of New York and across the globe, that encompass the Forward Disco ethos.
The fellas will kick things off on Saturday May 23rd with FILSONIK. Born and raised in the Lower East Side, Filsonik is as New York as they come. Growing up on hip hop, latin disco and reggae music, Filsonik also was schooled as classical pianist. It is the combination of street and classical influences that have forged Filsonik’s unique sound and has made him such a sought after producer, with his work touching labels such as Tuskegee, Hot Creations, Isgud Records, Vega Records and of course his very own, super funky Gran Manzana. As a DJ, he cut his teeth at Shelter warming things up for Timmy Regisford’s massive marathon sets. Fast forward to 2015, and he is touring the world rocking rooms as far as Dubai, his sets alongside The Martinez Brothers for Circo Loco at DC-10 have been can’t miss events for the Ibiza season. We can’t wait to hear what he has in store for us when we kick start our spring/summer season at Cielo.
Joining Filsonik for this special evening will be another New Yorker who is making his second appearance for us, Brian Burnside. Hailing from Brooklyn, Brian has rocked every party that this city has to offer, from 718 Sessions to Vibal to Roots to Funkbox, Brian knows what keeps the dancefloor moving. Brian’s closing set for us last June was one that still has people talking. Residents Sean Cormac and Chili Davis will be getting things going, with Alan Morehouse joining the fun for one of their signature B2B sessions.
