- Shake! returns for May with yet another wild double headliner strictly for the freaks: Dance Mania’s DJ Funk and Parris Mitchell! DJ FUNK Where do you even start with a legend like DJ Funk? Since his first release on Dance Mania in 1993 he's become a household name, and with good reason--he's responsible for countless bangin beats and hype vocals. We're pumped to Pump It with the creator of so many Ghetto House Anthems, especially because he's bringing along a drum machine and a synth for some live set action. PARRIS MITCHELL Alongside DJ Funk we have another house hero: Parris Mitchell. He's been a staple in the Chicago scene since the mid-'80s, releasing his first record on Ray Barney's label Bright Star Records in 1987. Mitchell went on to be an important part of the Dance Mania roster, releasing classics like "Butter Fly" and "Follow Me Ghetto". In the past few years lots of his material has been reissued and he's become something of a spokesperson for Dance Mania in the label's resurgence.
