Prototype 012: Scuba, Radio Slave and Plastic Love

  • Saturday July 4th, Prototype returns with two international techno heavyweights. Both hailing from the UK, but now both residing in Berlin. We bring you Scuba and Radio Slave, joined by LA scene die hards, Plastic Love. Since 2003, Paul Rose – better known to the world as techno maverick Scuba – and his Hotflush imprint have shaped the direction of the electronic scene’s bass-heavy landscape more than most. As a DJ and producer, Rose’s personal achievements have seen him ascend to rank among the UK’s electronic luminaries. He has released four artist albums, spun a mix for the esteemed DJ Kicks series, run a night at Berghain, and won a DJ Mag Best Live Act award. He arrives on July 4th hot off the heels from releasing his critically acclaimed new album, Claustrophobia and a storming BBC Radio One Essential Mix. Radio Slave, also known as Matt Edwards jets in to make his Prototype debut. Founder of the pioneering house and techno label, Rekids. It’s a label whose contribution to the scene has been immense, with releases from Nina Kraviz, Mr G, Kenny Larkin, Len Faki, Marcel Dettmann, DVS1 and Matt himself to name a few. Outside of Rekids, he’s clocked up releases on the best of the best, with R&S, Gerd Janson’s Running Back and Ostgut Ton. He’s been proclaimed by DJ Mag as one of the greatest remixers ever and has won Best British Producer at their Best of British awards The studio aside, he’s one of the most accomplished DJs the scene has to offer. An original Ministry of Sound resident from 1992, he’s since gone on to play virtually every major club around the world and holds residencies at Berlin's Panorama Bar and Paris' Rex Club with the Rekids label nights, and can be found most weekends headlining the world's top clubs such as Fabric (London), Rex Club (Paris), Womb (Tokyo), Space (Ibiza), Sub Club (Glasgow) and Robert Johnson (Frankfurt). LA’s favorite house music duo, Jimmy Maheras and Bas of Plastic Love open up the night, in their own inimitable style. This event is 21+
