Double Vision

  • Two experimental performances play with your expectations of a club night, combining audio and visuals into a surrounding sonic experience. One of techno’s most influential figures, Atom TM joins multimedia artist Robin Fox, to create a 360 degree manipulation of the senses. Lasers pan across you - the screen talks to you – you begin to notice projections on the walls and the ceiling. Abrasive, experimental sounds and a kind of deconstructed pop music, work in perfect tandem with the visuals for a complete and unique piece. The first half of this club night sees Berliner, Pole join forces with visual artist MFO. When people first heard Pole’s 1 in the mid-90s, it was unlike anything they’d ever heard or imagined before. Its use of white noise and glitches influenced dub techno and all the chugs which have come since. In this new project, MFO manipulates and sequences stills of natural images - they become animations, acting as visual performers. The music, taken from Pole’s upcoming album, Wald, has a fluid groove, yet is also harsh, heavy and chunky. These art forms combined explore sound, landscape and space. The result is pushing the boundaries of what can be performed on the visual stage. Bringing the evening to a close, Club To Club present enveloping and electrifying sets from three of Italy’s foremost electronic musicians: Vaghe Stelle, Ninos Du Brasil and Not Waving, as part of The Italian New Wave series of events.
