Industry of Machines presents Entro Senestre, P.O.I. & Faso

  • With the weather heating up for summer, Industry of Machines is back with a vengeance with a mean lineup for those who didn't get enough raving done in Detroit. We've hosted two of the artists before, but it was early on in their rise to notoriety and we feel before they had reached the level at which they now stand, so we're proud to welcome back Entro Senestre and Person of Interest for a pair of live sets to set the record straight. Also appearing in a new context is Discovery and Sublimate's Faso, the DJ for the night and one whose impeccable tastes stray into far grittier ground than his residencies are known for. With Detroit still fresh in our minds, we're sure this crew will get the club moving and usher in May's last weekend in style. Entro Senestre has a relatively long history compared to many of the newer Brooklyn crew, first appearing with analogue house sounds on an early WT Records drop while also turning his attention to electro and jakbeat, as seen on releases for L.I.E.S. and Kraftjerkz. Artists that are hard to pin down tend to pique our interest at IofM, so when he popped up just last month with a mostly techno release on the burning hot Dekmantel label following the debut of a banging new techno live PA set at Bossa Nova Civic Club, you could say our attention was aroused. We're not one to make specific requests of artists as we prefer to let them do their thing, but Dekmantel is no joke, his new WT release is equally striking, and we feel Entro Senestre has finally found fast footing and is sounding better than ever. He returns for his second appearance after an early set for IofM, but we trust that this will be the stuff of which impressions are made. Another return appearance comes from Person of Interest, who made his NYC live debut for IofM and whose name is now heating up thanks to solid and continued support from L.I.E.S. It helps that his records have reliably been some of the stronger releases on the label, and especially his newest, self-titled EP has been deservedly well received. It's nice to see artists we've supported finding success, and with his discography slowly growing and live appearances bubbling up surrounding the recent release, we're sure P.O.I. has plenty more in store. Faso is well known locally as a resident of Discovery and Sublimate, the former an important house-focused party for years in Brooklyn and the latter also house-focused and becoming an increasingly recognized regular event. We at IofM have quite eagerly attended more than a few events from both organizers, but we also know that Faso's tastes in techno and experimental electronic music stray quite far from the preferred palette at either of his home bases, and we've always respected him for his wilder side. With a subtle suggestion to drop his dirtiest wares, we welcome Faso for his first IofM appearance as recognition of his accomplishments in building and sustaining the scene as we see it.
