Northern Funk is the lovechild of Manchester ’s longest running clubnight Funkademia.
Established in 1996 Northern Funk continues to burn up the dancefloor every Friday with its unique blend of classic funk, electric disco and original modern soul. A sound track of legendary soulsters and their inspired contemporaries from Stevie Wonder to Duffy to Marvin Gaye to Amy Winehouse to James Brown to Aretha Franklin to the Avalanches to Issac Hayes.
Northern Funk takes place every Friday at Manchester coolest independent nightclub – One Central Street - where the soulful beat of Detroit and the disco strings of New York move a thousand young feet on a dancefloor in Manchester.
