Several years after the 2009 release of Psychic Chasms, Neon Indian remains one of the music scene’s premier electronic acts. With its melting synths and hazy vocals reminiscent of summer’s hottest days, Neon Indian has garnered critical acclaim for its genre-defying, head-swimming sound. After solidifying his production chops as part of Ghosthustler and VEGA, Mexican-born Texan Alan Palomo, the brain behind Neon Indian, has taken the electronic music scene by storm, recently collaborating with the Flaming Lips, releasing a single via Mountain Dew’s internet label, and even creating and selling his own mini analog synthesizer. Palomo spent the winter of 2010 recording his most recent full-length Era Extrana in Helsinki, Finland, which was released in 2011 to widely favorable reviews. Now his latest single “Annie” finds Alan at his most aggressive, channeling forward thinking 80’s rock into LP3.
