  • Dr Funkenstein himself takes the controls of P.funk shuttle, for a night of supergroovalisticprosifunkstication madness at Electric Ballroom George Clinton has inspired generations with his dedication to funk as a musical form. His enigmatic performance of hits such as ‘Atomic Dog’ and ‘One Nation Under A Groove’ will be truly unmissable. Drawing inspiration from Motown’s assembly line of sound, Clinton put together a collective of over 50 musicians and recorded the ensemble as both Parliament and Funkadelic. While Funkadelic pursued band-format psychedelic rock, Parliament engaged in funk free-for-all, blending influences from the godfathers (James Brown and Sly Stone) with freaky costumes and theme’s inspired by the ‘60s acid culture and science fiction. As a producer, writer and performer, he twisted Soul and fused Funk with a sound inspired by his late 60’s acid heroes like Jimi Hendrix, Frank Zappa and Sly Stone. With awards including a Grammy, MTV Music Video Awards, a Dove and a lifetime achievement from the Motown Alumni Association it’s no surprise that Clinton’s Parliament/Funkadelic was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in ‘97. A well loved, respected and admired musician the world over, George’s accomplishments shine brightly. However, his career doesn’t stop in music, Clinton has starred in many films including ‘The Night Before’, ‘House Party’ and ‘Good Burger’.
