Summer maybe stuttering a little but there’s no shortage of eminent parties to be enjoyed even if the weather hasn’t been so kind. We’re doing our best to play our part with a searing triple header of ALL CAPS artists. This one is a very unique line up which brings together three of the label’s most talented producers and performers.
First up, Hashman Deejay… Hailing from British Colombia, he is WBH’s second Mood Hut guest of this year. Hashman (who appeared on ALL CAPS in his Bluntman guise) has had a spectacular couple of years. With the recognition of Mood Hut as one of the most gifted stables of up and coming artists, his part has been instrumental in taking the imprints message to the hearts of the people. With the exquisite ‘Sandopolis’ LP appearing on Future Times (another WBH staple)last year and acclaimed Boiler Room appearances, his stock is justifiably high right now. One part of Aquarian Foundation and recording also as Ttam Renat, this guy brings some serious ruckus in the studio and on the floor!
Next up, Bake…as the spiritual and intellectual guide of ALL CAPS, Bake has unobtrusively carved out the perfect DJ niche for himself. With plaudits arriving the upper echelons of taste making, his label, performances and Rinse show have become a must visit for anyone interested in hearing fresh sounds and the support of artists who need to be heard. Few selectors can match his depth of flavour as he shares his enthusiasm for great music with all whom he encounters. A total honour to have him with us in the Tunnel; it’s the perfect complement to a hot summer’s night.
Lastly, holding it down for Cardiff is DJ Guy. Not exactly a household name, Guy has been producing the highest grade house and techno for some years now. More recently his great talents were spotted by Bake and the ’20 (1996)’ EP dropped via ALL CAPS in 2014. Since then DJ Guy has gone onto release his debut LP via Nord Records and followed that up with another EP on Cejero. A skilled DJ with selection prowess, DJ Guy is the rare delicacy that sets this party off.
As an added aperitif, Hashman and Ollie Seaman (Warm) will be warming up the terrace at Oval Space from 7pm to get us all in the mood.
