One of house music’s most exciting new voices, Galcher Lustwerk pairs gritty percussion, luscious pads, and mesmerizing spoken-word vocals to incredible effect. As part of the White Material collective, Galcher has given today’s underground a new voice to rally behind - one with a healthy dose of attitude and the talent to match. With a reputation for sitting on piles of unreleased material, from himself and others, expect the man to unleash some serious heat for the dance floor.
Nautiluss (Turbo Recordings, The Nite Owl Diner, Hemlock - CAN)
In a relatively short amount of time, Nautiluss has released music on some of today’s most revered labels, including Untold’s Hemlock and Turbo Recordings. With a quick listen it’s easy to understand why - the Toronto native perfectly captures the spirit of today’s best experiments in fusing house and techno. Nautiluss’ productions, which often showcase crisp samples and infectiously warm basslines, demonstrate an ear for what makes a dance floor tick. His DJ sets are no exception, and having proved himself as one of Toronto’s best, Nautiluss’ San Francisco debut is long overdue.
