Bleep43 presents an immersive audiovisual experiment featuring electronic music and digital imagery from Anthony Child (aka Surgeon), Ali Wade and Konx-Om-Pax.
Also known as Surgeon, Anthony Child is among the most revered and adventurous electronic musicians to emerge from the UK’s homegrown techno scene. Appearing alongside him is his long time collaborator, photographer and videographer Ali Wade. Together they present a jointly improvised performance in which sound influences vision and vice versa. Their intention is to induce a trance-like state in both audience and performers. As well as featuring a swathe of psychedelic custom footage created by Wade, this performance also sees Child’s public debut on the rarely seen Buchla Music Easel synthesizer.
Joining the line up is Konx-Om-Pax, the production alias of Tom Scholefield. Something of a polymath, Scholefield is responsible for some striking examples of contemporary psychedelia such as his cover artwork for the likes of Chevron, Lone and Wiley, as well as a video commissions for Hudson Mohawke and Spoek Mathambo amongst others. An adept music producer, Scholefield aims to release his second album on Planet Mu later in 2015, a preview of which might be expected at this show.
Founded 15 years ago, the Bleep43 collective’s mission is to present pivotal and innovative figures from electronic music in settings that encourage experimentation and expression.
