ESKA is the most talked about, revered, internationally known singer you’ve FINALLY heard of!
After patiently waiting for the most-anticipated debut album of all time, now we got that out of the way in May at Rich Mix, we can start to celebrate ESKA in the way her talent truly deserves. ESKA weaves together diverse musical elements – she hints at folk, soul, psychedelica and even electronica, creating a sound that is completely her own.
Having previously collaborated with some of Soundcrash’s favourite live acts including Cinematic Orchestra, Zero 7 and Bobby McFerrin, the latest release ‘Gatekeeper’ is independent of an official release and has already created a buzz; receiving strong radio support from the likes of Gilles Peterson, Lauren Laverne and Jamie Cullum.

Supporting will be Tru Thoughts’ Harleighblu. Combining a classic yet truly distinctive soul voice with a love of bass and eclectic future beats, each new release from Harleighblu is a revelation. Signed to Tru Thoughts – a match made in musical heaven – Harleighblu has been likened to Erykah Badu and AlunaGeorge in the same breath.
Taking the next natural stylistic step, in 2015 Harleighblu has been exploring a cutting-edge electronic spin on her signature sound, with talents including Dr Zygote (Black Acre), Lost Midas, SpectraSoul and Azure at the production controls. Causing a stir across the Summer with two stunning installments in June and August, the “Futurespective” EP series unveils a sharp, forward-thinking style of soulful pop music dusted with grit and glitter in equal measure.
Opening this spectacular night of soul is Milly Blue. A big voice accompanied by a small instrument, Milly Blue’s music is written on ukulele. Rooms fall silent as she sings and tiny pins have been heard to drop from the sudden-still hands of those entranced by the soulful timbre of her sound.
