Originally from Montevideo, currently residing in Berlin, and with stints in Sao Paolo, London, Paris, and more, Nicolas Lutz is one of a rare breed of DJs whose style centers around the art of the chase: seeking the perfect record, mixed perfectly, from the annals of house, techno, and electro. Like Dan Bell or Club der Visionaere compatriot Binh, Lutz’s sets are studied affairs stitched seamlessly together that gain rapturous praise from heads while keeping the dancefloor alive in motion, and his unusual ear extends to his label My Own Jupiter, a prized find of Taimur’s while he was head of distribution of Halcyon. To complement such articulate skills, we’ve chosen another true master: Norm Talley is one of Detroit’s true legends on the house music side, a man whose decades of experience behind the decks come through in every set he plays. The author of an essential clutch of Detroit house classics stretching back to the mid-90s that gained fame only later, with fellow Detroit godfathers Moodymann, Theo Parrish, Delano Smith, Rich Wade, and Rick Wilhite, Talley’s star has risen over time to ever-greater praise. One of the primary names responsible for bringing the current wave of NY-centered house music to global acclaim, on a short list that includes Levon Vincent, DJ Qu, Joey Anderson, Jus-Ed, and Anthony Parasole – Fred P. is, alongside Levon, the author of the most distinctive sound to emerge from this movement, as well as one of its most formidable DJs. Fred P’s roots as a producer go back several many years (including a near-miss in the high-stakes world of NYC hip-hop production), but it was with the deep house movement of the late 90s where he found his true calling, and years later it remains a major component of Fred P.’s inimitable, ultra-deep take on contemporary house and techno. We're thrilled to welcome the unstoppable Mr. Fred P aboard a roster that has been months in the making... at last coming together from the influence of three great cities: Berlin, Detroit & NY! Alongside this distinguished company, residents Taimur & Fahad will supply the foundation for a special night of house music breaking through to the morning light.
