- RSVP: [email protected] Berlin is certainly famous for techno, but when talking about house DJs from that renown city, there is one name that rises easily to the top: Dixon, the co-head of the Innervisions label and since the early ‘90s the go-to selector for top quality house in a place more famed for harder sounds. Of course there are plenty of other DJs in Berlin who pursued similar paths, but Dixon’s talent singled him out from the start. Throughout the ‘90s, he was better thought of as the house DJ from Berlin rather than simply a house DJ from Berlin, and beginning in 2005 with his first appearances on Sonar Kollektiv and the near-simultaneous launch of Innervisions, Dixon consolidated a career and a legend that remains unbroken to this day. The first 20 catalogue numbers of Innervisions are peppered with names like Laurent Garnier, Stefann Goldmann, Château Flight and others and remain underground classics; it was also at this time they launched the Muting the Noise and Philomena sublabels, dedicated to more experimental fare and to edits, respectively, increasing both the depth and the breadth of a label already at the forefront of modern house. The introduction of names like Marcus Worgull, Matthew Dekay, Recondite and Agoria to the stalwarts in the roster brought even more textural richness to a label whose sound was already immediately distinctive, and in the past five years both Dixon and Innervisions have risen from underground legends to widespread acclaim as two of the most prominent names in dance music, with very little change in their tactics. After many previous, pivotal sets for BlkMarket Membership, we are again proud to welcome back Dixon for a special, extended intimate set along side residents Taimur & Fahad.
