Tropical Waste with Kablam, Dinamarca, Throwing Shade, Kamixlo, Grovestreet, Iydes, Seb

  • Our eighth party lands at the height of summer so we thought we’d fill the basement with the most colourful club music going… KABLAM (JANUS) KABLAM flies in from Berlin to deliver a set loaded with fresh, frenetic dance music. Part of the Janus crew alongside previous Tropical Waste guests Lotic and M.E.S.H., she’s one of the most exciting DJs in operation and is guaranteed to bring unbridled energy to the basement, as well as a refreshing sense of unpredictability. She’s recently been rolling with Staycore, the Swedish squad that’s brimming with new talent, and her latest mix for Fader is an impeccable statement of intent. https://soundcloud.com/ka-blam DINAMARCA (STAYCORE) Dinamarca makes his UK debut at Tropical Waste. The Stockholm artist co-runs the aforementioned Staycore label with Ghazal and the pair have just released 'Summer Jams 2K15', a free compilation bursting with essential new club music. In the studio, Dinamarca produces vibrant tracks: check his certified anthem 'A.M.A.B.' and watch for forthcoming bits on Her Records and NAAFI, as well as an EP featuring collabs with Kablam, Kid Antoine, Toxe and L-Vis 1990. His DJ sets are always super bubbly and very fucking fun, so come see him make the room sweat. https://soundcloud.com/dinamarca117 THROWING SHADE (NO PAIN IN POP) Throwing Shade has notched up releases on Kassem Mosse’s Ominira, The Kelly Twins’ Happy Skull and, most recently, pioneering indie No Pain In Pop. On record, she moves between throbbing, velveteen dance music and sensual, ethereal pop in ways that are truly enchanting. Her long-running NTS show displays her deep knowledge of roots music from around the world and in the club, she whips up r’n’b, grime, house, off-kilter pop and her own edits and productions. With all this in mind, we're very excited to hear what she brings to Tropical Waste. https://soundcloud.com/throwingshade KAMIXLO (ENDLESS) Kamixlo is responsible for our favourite tune of the year so far. Uploaded to his SoundCloud but primed for the dance, 'Paletta' is a fierce workout that lashes together libidinal thrust and machine-gun fire. Then there's his edit of 'Ayo', which has been getting caned on Radar and NTS, and his collabs with Blaze Kidd and Bladee, which show how comfortable he is working with vocalists. He can usually be seen blowing up crucial parties like Endless and PDA with a freeform selection of reggaeton, rap and his own productions and joins us down in the basement ahead of the release of his debut EP. https://soundcloud.com/kamixlo GROVESTREET (TIGHT KNIT/TRAX COUTURE) VS TROPICAL WASTE (NTS) Grovestreet's been on our radar since her searing debut EP dropped via Tight Knit last year. Since then she's remixed M.E.S.H. for the PAN label and been part of Trax Couture's on-point World Series, steadily refining her approach as she goes. In the mix, she dissolves the boundaries between noise, Memphis rap, ballroom, ghetto house and grime and for this party will go head-to-head with Tropical Waste residents Iydes and Seb, whose monthly slot on NTS comes loaded with visceral bump 'n grind. https://soundcloud.com/grovestreetuk https://soundcloud.com/iydes https://soundcloud.com/tropical-waste-1
